Resonance: a chapbook

Illuminating the Instructive Power of Poetry

Help create a rich resource for everyone! The Chapbook is imagined as a small, useful collection of poems, each accompanied by a short essay explaining why the poem matters to you. The essay shows how each poem can inspire and influence both thoughts and actions.

For John, poems like “To Be of Use” by Marge Piercy, “Love After Love” by Derek Walcott, and “The Summer Day” by Mary Oliver speak to how he shows up for himself and others. Yet Judy Brown’s poem, “Fire,” always reminds him to create space daily to nourish his body, mind, and spirit.

Here’s the invitation

Choose a poem that holds deep meaning for you and write a brief (100 - 300 word) essay about why it resonates, how it helps. We’ll publish a curated selection of these poems and essays this fall in both virtual and bound volumes—just in time for holiday gift-giving!

The deadline is May 31. Click here to complete the form and submit your entry.

Those selected will be notified by August 31.
